Textures of the World
Capturing the feeling of a place, or a unique moment, for me, is often hidden in the textures experienced at that time. I've found that no matter where you are in the world, this often comes down to a dominant colour, a cultural nuance, and sometimes even the icons associated with that piece of territory. I like to live in the moment in the tempo of largo, breathing it in, immersing myself in the exquisite pleasure of it, before it takes my breath away.
La mujer
Soft feminine beauty seen through a pane of glass
Bamboo and zephyr
Why do a thousand bamboo trees feel like a spiritual cloud?
Frosted grass
I found the alien feeling of the arctic circle in the smallest blades of grass.
Las Fallas
The fire wraps him like a luxurious coat.
Sun-kissed torii
The morning light makes the famous torii gates look painterly.
Smile of the Zwarte
The sheer joy in the parade captured in a single man.
Sunset porch
The most Australian part of Australia is also the most surreal.
Carved in stone
Words are beautiful in every language.
Winter tree neurons
The dissonance of trees and space age spheres is somehow harmonious to me.
